Alenka indulges in the belief that her lover is dead in order to account for his absence. On her nightly retreat to an abandoned cemetery, Alenka is surprised by a singular night-guard whose duty it is to ensure that no ghosts escape the premises. That night, however, a ghost does escape, tailing the young girl in the city of Prague.
