Recording

Audio data from cdrom drives can be recorded in files on any of the servers in the group. To record a file, perform the following steps.

• Select the CD to be recorded.
• The Save radio button on the left side of the window should become ungrayed. Select this button to bring up a menu of all the servers in the group, and how much file space each server has available.
• Select one of the servers.
• Play the CD

When the CD is played and the Save button is selected, the audio data is collected into a file on the server that was selected. To stop the recording, deselect the Save radiobutton.

Each track that is recorded is owned and voted for by the user who recorded it. The ownership of the file is used for access permission (see the section on File Permissions).

If you would rather listen to a different source than the CD being recorded, deselect the Listen button. This disconnects the recording session.
