The Wall Street Journal ran an article "When Diplomacy leads to betrayal" that highlights work by Vlad Niculae and Cristian Danescu-Niculescu-Mizil, together with Srijan Kumar (UMD) and Jordan Boyd-Graber (UC Boulder), that studied online play of the game Diplomacy to identify communication patterns occurring in the language of betrayal.
