Cornell Dining

Cornell Dining mobile app

Note

This project now has a full team.

Clients

Brian Lin <bl356@cornell.edu>
Thomas Hittinger <tjh238@cornell.edu>

The clients are currently currently serving as the Chair and Vice Chair of the Student Assembly Committee on Information and Technologies. They have been collaborating with CIT, the Student Assembly, University Communications, and Cornell Dining to develop a mobile application for Cornell Dining.

Project

The Cornell Dining app will provide up to date information about the food selections available at every dining hall, nutritional facts for health awareness, and operation times for all dining hall locations. This project will have high impact, seeing as every student or campus visitor is a potential user of this app. The end goal is to publish the final app through the Student Assembly and Cornell Dining to be publicized through University Communications, the Cornell Daily Sun, the Cornell Review, among other news outlets across campus.

On the technical side, the plan is to use PhoneGap, which is a mobile cross platform framework that will enable one app to publish across the iPhone, Android, Blackberry, and Windows Phone. The clients have plenty of funding capabilities to cover any costs incurred during the process.
