I started with three individual images: one of a bride, one of a girl, and one of a mirror. These are shown below:

First, I used my image scissors to crop the small girl out from the background. I created a mask and used the layering feature in GIMP to crop the girl from the background, and then horizontally inverted the picture. The images used in this process are shown below. The one on the left is the contour I created using the image scissors. THe one in the middle is the black and white mask created by the image scissors, and the one on the right is what I got after applying the mask to the image through GIMP.

Then, I cropped the bride out of her image using the same method. I had to use multiple masks to take out the space between her arms and her body. I then applied the masks in GIMP and cropped the bride using the same method above. The masks and resulting images are shown below:

The next step was to layer the images on top of each other. First, I horizontally inverted the picture of the bride, and added it to the mirror image. I then cropped out the mirror and saved this image, shown below on the left. I then took the cropped out portion of the mirror and added the girl's picture to it. This image is shown on the right.

Finally, I layered the two images on top of each other, and slightly blurred the image of the girl to make it blend together a little better. My final artifact is shown below:
