Mastery of C is not an absolute requirement in 414, though it helps immensely if you have at least a basic understanding, as its the language I use in the lecture notes. Besides, C is one of these languages that any self respecting Computer Scientist (not to mention Electrical Engineer) should know. Really.... And it's quite a cool little language.. Honestly. I mean, which other language has an Obfuscated Code Contest?
