June 28, 2001:

The solution to the sleeping-barber problem using monitor is posted here.

Solution to the last homework assignment has been posted.

The final exam will be held in 205 Thurston Hall on July 2 (Monday) from 10:00am to 12:00pm. 

The TA will hold an extra office hour on Friday from 2:00pm to 3:00pm in 5154 Upson.

June 26, 2001:

My office hour on Thursday will be extended to 2 hours (2:00pm to 4:00pm) in 4116 Upson.

The last homework assignment has been posted on the web.

The final is scheduled on July 2, 2001 from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Location to be announced. The final will cover all the materials we have learned in the class. See Reading Assignments for the list of chapters. 

Note that we will be adding more to the reading assignments until the last day of class.

June 13, 2001:

I will hold office hour from 2:30pm to 4:30pm today in 417 Rhodes. Rama's office hour today is cancelled. There will be no office hour tomorrow.

Reminder: The midterm exam will he held tonight from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at Upson 211 and 207.

June 11, 2001:

Due to construction, my office hours this week will be held in 417 Rhodes Hall instead of 4116 Upson. The hours remain the same. Also, the mid-term will be a one and a half hour close-book exam. 

June 8, 2001:

The mid-term exam will be held at Upson 211 and 207.

June 7, 2001:

The mid-term exam will be held on May 13 (Wednesday) from 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Location to be announced. The chapters covered by the mid-term are the following:  Chapters 1, 2, 3.1--3.4, 4.1 - 4.6, 5.1 - 5.4, 6.1 - 6.7, 7, and 8.

Some clarification to the first programming assignment has been made. Please read the updated programming assignment.

June 1, 2001:

Students who already have a CSUGLAB account can use their existing accounts. Only the following 8 students need to get the account information from me or the TA during the time period indicated in yesterday's announcement.

The first programming assignment is available on the web. To get your account and password (to be used in CSUGLAB), please stop by 4116 Upson  from 1:00pm to 2:00pm or stop by 5154 Upson from 2:00pm to 3:00pm on Friday, June 1, 2001. For those who cannot make it, you can pick up your account information before class on Monday.

Note that there is a design part of this programming assignment (See Part II of the assignment), you are encouraged to work on that before you get the account information.

Homework 1 Due. Programming assignment will be available on the web later today.

May 24, 2001: 

Homework 1 posted, due on May 31, 2001.
