- Apr 23: Project 4 has been announced. Please pick a topic and let us know by noon on April 26.
- Apr 23: Read chapter 20 and answer all the questions by 1 pm on Apr 30.
- Apr 16: Read chapter 19 and answer all the questions by 1 pm on Apr 23.
- Apr 11: There is a new, improved version of the solution to project 2 available, which incorporates some bug fixes, including the "window focus" bug. A README is included, to identify which files have been changed.
- Apr 10: There is a makeup exam today at 3:35 in Philips 219 that can be used to improve your midterm or homework grades.
- Apr 9: Read chapter 12 and 14 and answer 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.6, 12.7, 12.10, 14.1, 14.2, 14.4, 14.5, 14.6, 14.7, 14.8, 14.9, 14.10 by Apr 16.
- Apr 9: The due date for project 3 has been extended until 1 pm on April 16. Note, however, that you have to implement fragmentation. Read the odds and ends section of the project description for further details.
- Apr 3: There is a review session today during section hours (3:35 pm in Philips 219).
- Apr 2: Read chapters 11 and 13. Answer questions 11.1, 11.10, 13.2, 13.3, 13.4, 13.5, 13.8, 13.11, 13.17, 13.19 by 1 pm on Apr 9.
- Apr 2: Project 3 is out.
- Mar 28, 2001: Read chapter 10 and answer questions 10.1 through 10.13 by Apr 2.
- Mar 16, 2001: Makeup Midterm is on Mar 26 in Upson 4135 at 1:25.
- Mar 16, 2001: Have a nice break.
- Mar 16, 2001: Midterm.
- Mar 12, 2001: No homework this week, study for the midterm.
- Mar 6, 2001: A race condition in the code has been fixed, you will need to replace minithread_md.c with a new version.
- Mar 5, 2001: Read chapter 8. Answer 8.1, 8.2, 8.5, 8.8, 8.10, 8.11, 8.13, 8.14, 8.15, 8.16 by Mar 9.
- Feb 27, 2001: There is a section today on Project 2.
- Feb 26, 2001: Project 2 is out.
- Feb 23, 2001: Read chapter 15, and the Ethernet paper linked on this page. Answer 15.2 through 15.11 and these questions by 1 pm on Mar 2nd.
- Feb 19, 2001: If you are doing the preemption extra-credit assignment, then pick up an updated copy of clock.c.
- Feb 16, 2001: Read chapter

- Feb 9, 2001: There is a review session during 414 section hours on Feb 13. Ben Atkin will give an overview of a solution for Project 1.
- Feb 6, 2001, 6:30 pm: Project 1 has been updated to fix some
compilation errors some people were
encountering. If you picked it up earlier, get
the new version.
- Feb 7, 2001: Your CSUGLab accounts are ready. Pick
them up from Tammy Howe in Upson 4119.
- Feb 5, 2001: Project 1 is out.
- Feb 2, 2001: There is a review session during 414 section hours on Feb 6. Indranil Gupta will give a tutorial on programming in C for Java programmers.
- Feb 2, 2001: HW3: Read chapter 5. Answer all the questions (5.1 through 5.10) by 1 pm on Feb 9.
- Jan 29, 2001: HW2: Read chapters 3 and 4. Answer questions
3.1, 3.2, 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 3.7, 3.11, 4.1, 4.4, 4.5, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9.
- Jan 23, 2001: There will be no section on 1/23 or 1/30. We'll reserve the
time slot on tuesday afternoons will use them for review sessions and
project assignment overviews. There will be a few of these during the
semester, and they will be announced here. Otherwise, assume we are
not meeting on tuesdays.
- Jan 22, 2001: HW1: Read chapters 1 and 2. Answer questions 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 1.10, 1.11, 1.12, 2.3, 2.4, 2.7, 2.8, 2.9., 2.10 from the book.
- Jan 22, 2001: All students taking 414 should also be enrolled in 415, and vice versa. And don't forget to sign up for the 414 and 415 sections.
