Announcements:
    - An additional review session has been scheduled for Tuesday, 12/12, 6-8 pm, in Upson 205.

    - Prof. Hopcroft's office hours on Friday, 12/8, have been cancelled.

    - TA Pushyamitra Akhawat has cancelled today's office hours, T 12/5.

    - Final review sessions have been scheduled.  Please see "Review Sessions" below for the schedule.  We need a rough outline of what you want covered in the review sessions. Please send an email to [yogi at cs dot cornell dot edu] telling your preferred list of topics you would like covered in the sessions. This will help the TAs to better prepare for them.

    - Shashank Senapaty's office hours on W 11/22 have been cancelled.

An important announcement about Prelim 2 regrades (and regrades in general):

The prelims have been graded. We have tried to be as consistent and reasonable as possible with the grades.  That being said, if you happen to think that your prelim has received more/less (partial) credit than you deserve, please understand that some (little) mistakes are inevitable (to err is human).  Here is what we would like you to do if you have any regrade requests:

But let us say one very important thing. Please do not let these guidelines discourage you from submitting a regrade request if you genuinely think that your solution has not been understood well.  We always accept the fact that our grading is not perfect and we will be happy to look into any mistakes we might have made in our grading.

    - Prof. Hopcroft's office hours are cancelled on M 11/13 and T 11/14.

    - There will be a review session for Prelim 2 on Thursday, Nov. 9 in Upson 215, 7-9 pm.

    - There will be a review session for Prelim 1 on Wednesday, Oct. 25 in Upson B17, 7-9 pm.

    - An updated version of HW6 has been posted (10/2/06, 9:30 am).

    - TA Dan FitzGerald's office hours have moved to Thursdays, 4-5 pm.  See updated list of hours below ("Office Hours").

    - Prof. Hopcroft's office hours have been cancelled for the week of Sept. 4-8.  They will resume on Sept. 11.  Please use the TA office hours for this week.

    - Please write your name and net id on all homework pages turned in.  We need net id to record your grade.  If you turn in each problem on a separate sheet we will grade your problems in parallel and get your assignment back to you by the following Wednesday.  If you turn in homework not on separate sheets we will circulate your homework and grade the problems in serial and thus it will likely be delayed somewhat in getting back to you.

Concepts

Homework:  Homework is due every Friday.  No late homework will be accepted without a medical excuse (we operate on the honor system).  We encourage your helping others.  There is no competition for a grade; grade on absolute basis.  We will grade on correctness and neatness.

Two principles:
    1)  write up in your own words
    2)  you must understand everything you turn in

Graded homework can be picked up from UP 360.  You must show your Cornell ID to pick up your assignments.
