CS312 Spring 2003 Announcement Archive
These are all the older announcements.
- Most of the PS6 grades are now up in CMS. If you do not have a grade,
do not panic; we have a few delays and you should get your grade by
Monday night. Details of the grading for your group should be
e-mailed to you by the group that graded you.
- The final exam is Thursday, May 15, 3–5:30PM, in Phillips 101.
- Sample final exams are now posted with the other sample exams.

- Frances and Kamal's office hours will be swapped this week. Frances
will be holding office hours on Tuesday from 2–3PM in Upson 331, and
Kamal will be holding office hours on Friday from 1:30–3:15PM in Upson
4161.

Minor bug-fix to action.sml (changed 1 character). ps5.zip has
been updated. Change is: line 103, change the last 'e' to a 'v'.

Prelim 1 has been graded and you can view the
solution and your
scores through CMS. A smoothed histogram of all the scores is also
available.
Vladimir will be having extra office hours tomorrow (Friday)
in Upson 4104 from 1:30 to 3:30.
The PS4 deadline has been extended by one day. The new due
date is Friday, at 11:59PM
The original PS4 description had incorrect examples. An updated
version is available. We apologize
for the mistake.
Frances' office hours are cancelled for next Friday because
she will be "at least in Ohio, if not in Indiana" by then

1 solutions are available.

PS2 solutions are available.
We encourage you to look at them regardless of your score to
get a better idea of what we expect in your code.
The date of Prelim 1 has been corrected on the overview
page. As the schedule said all along, it will be March 6.
PS3 is now available. It is due Feb
25.
Starting Wednesday Feb. 5 we will be offering an
11:15AM section that meets in Upson 211.
The last 7:30PM
section will also be held on that Wednesday.
Consulting hours are now from Sunday to Thursday in Upson 304 from 7:00pm to
10:00pm
SML/NJ has been installed on the machines in the
ACCEL Computer Center
in the Engineering Library, and is available for your use.
Graded PS2's can be picked up from Esha Molette in Upson 4119 Thursday 3–5pm and Friday 1:30–3:30pm.
Don't wait until the last half hour to submit PS2.
The CMS system can get overloaded by all the last-minute
submissions and be relatively unresponsive. You can always
resubmit if you are able to improve your initial submission.
Hubert's office hours for this week (on 2/3) are cancelled.
Also, Vladimir's office hours have changed from 2:30-4:00
to 1:30-3:00, same day.
PS2 is available. Get started right
away!
CMS is back up. PS1 is still due at the same time, and
please e-mail if you have any problems
Vim demo sessions on Tuesday 1/28 at 7:00pm and 8:00pm in Upson
B11 (CIT Lab in Upson). If you have problems using emacs, or
want to try a different editor, try Vim. Half the coursestaff
uses it. :)
For those of you who want to try a different editor than emacs,
we have a Vim distribution out. Click

The 7:30 section will still be held for now in Upson 205. Section
attendance will determine whether this section will be cancelled or
not.
Initial source code for PS1 is accessible through the CMS system. If you can't access CS312 through the system, you probably were not pre-enrolled for the class;
in that case send us mail to be added to the 312 CMS system.
Consulting hours start on Wednesday. Come early and often!
Emacs tutorial sections will be held at 7pm and 8pm on Jan 21 and 23, Upson B7.
Sections will not be held on Monday, January 20. The first meeting
will be a lecture on Tuesday, January 21 in the classroom, 255
Olin Hall.
