The main review session will be in Phillips 101 on Oct. 14th from 7:30 – 9:00pm. We are also offering a second review session during one of the normal recitation times, Hollister 306 on Oct. 14th, 12:20pm-1:10pm

Thr 10/1 Quiz 2 soln You can find a solution to in-class quiz 2 here.
Fri 9/25 New course admin Bill Hogan will be leaving for an exciting position in Germany, and we're interviewing replacements now.  In the meanwhile, the TAs can help with CMS issues or similar problems.  To arrange for a meeting with Ken, either show up during his office hours (10-12 Monday) or email Maria Witlox (mwitlox@cs.cornell.edu)
Tue 9/22 Quiz 1 soln You can find a solution to in-class quiz 1 here.  You get full credit as long as you handed in a page with your name and net-id on it.  We'll continue to give quizes from time to time in lecture and recitations.

Videotaped lectures Starting on Tuesday 9/15 we will be videotaping CS2110 lectures so that people who miss a lecture can catch up.  Obviously the worry here is about the flu, which is continuing to spread on campus.  Video lectures aren't as good as being there but at least will offer you an option if you need to miss class.

Prelim 1 conflict We are aware of a major conflict between ENGRD 2300 (Nano) and CS/ENGRD 2110 for prelim1.  Right now the ENGRD 2300 people are checking to see if they can just move that exam but if not, we'll be allowing a group of students to start the CS prelim early, that same day, so that they finish just a little after the main CS 2110 group has started the exam.  Then they can head over and start the Nano prelim perhaps half an hour after the official start time, and of course they would get the normal amount of time to do the exam (so they would finish half an hour late).  Those who do this will be required to remain in the cs2110 exam room without using phones or laptops even if they finish early: we can't have people who have taken an exam wandering around when other people haven't started that exam yet, for obvious reasons.  If there are other conflicts, we'll let the people who have those conflicts do exactly the same thing.

Newsgroup We've made a decision to use our course newsgroup for announcements.  Some are important ones and you therefore MUST get in the habit of checking the newsgroup every few days.  The name of our newsgroup is cornell.class.cs2110 and you can launch your computer's news reader by clicking this URL: news://cornell.class.cs2110.  The newreader software will need your netid and password and will want to know the name of the server to use, which is newsstand.cit.cornell.edu (notice the spelling...).  Some news readers are better than others; people tell us that Monzilla works really well (worth remembering if you have problems).

We recommend that you post questions to the newsgroup so that everyone can see your question and the answer.  But even if you aren't the posting type, do make sure to read the newsgroup!

Sections CS2110 recitation sections are required.  The first meetings will be on Tuesday Sept 1.  You can pick any section that you find convenient and can switch from section to section if necessary without telling us.
Mon 8/3 Consultants needed Consultants for CS 1110, 1130, 1112, 1132, and 2110 are needed for the fall semester. The minimum requirements are a grade of A- in these courses and an overall gpa of 3.0. To apply, go to the ugrad office in 303 Upson or e-mail Laurie Buck: buck@cs.cornell.edu.
