Academic Integrity We have received reports from consultants that students continue to work in the consulting room after receiving help. However, you must work somewhere else so that consultants can help other students, especially when it gets busy. We are also concerned that people use the consultants as "human compilers" -- you are responsible for testing your code on your own, not incrementally with a consultant.

academic
integrity
Although we've made announcements in lecture about how we check every assignment against every other assignment, people have been caught breaking the Code of Academic Integrity. It's NOT a ruse...the software does indeed check all assignments. We have just completed a round of Academic Integrity Hearings today. Unfortunately, some A2 submissions were flagged by the software. We take copying and sharing of detailed algorithms very seriously. An Academic Integrity Hearing can be very unpleasant. If you find yourself getting behind on the material, you need to seek help from the course staff. As always, if you have any questions, please let us know.
A3 The files are being posted as of 5:05pm (there are additional files along with the main document). The due date did in fact shift to Sun 10/2 11:59pm (the assignment might have the old one). So, you have a few extra days.
late/missing
assignments
Sorry that we've had to make these kinds of announcements, but some students are pushing the bounds of the rules. There were some people who submitted late A2s or had missing/updated files. They are being graded and penalized. Note that you must budget enough time before submitting your work so that you can check things and be able to access a public site in case your network crashes. For A3 we set CMS to allow late submissions (which CMS tags as "late" -- we will determine the increased penalties during A3's grading).

A2 partners Students who filled out "slips" at the first lecture will be e-mailed by the TAs about partnering up. If you still need a partner, we'll have a sign-up sheet in lecture. You may also use the newsgroup to find a partner.
