There are many Java books on the market.  While I do not teach from a specific book, nor do I require you to buy a book here is a list of books that either I own and like or have been used to teach the course in the past.

• The Java Programming Language, 3rd Edition by Arnold, Gosling, and Holmes (Optional Textbook)

• Java In A Nutshell, 2nd Edition by Flanagan
