Ben Ziony Guy
Viola
Guy Ben-Ziony was born in Israel in 1974. At age nine, he started his
violin studies, changing to viola four years later. He completed his
studies under Professor Tabea Zimmermann (Frankfurt) and Professor
Tatiana Masurenko (Leipzig). Guy is currently principal viola of
Camerata Nordica, Sweden, and the Tel-Aviv Soloists. He is regularly
invited as a guest principal viola by ‘Kremerata Baltica’ under Gidon
Kremer. He is a member of the Gold Quartet, which is quartet in
residence at Camerata Nordica. He has performed as a soloist with most
Israeli orchestras, among them the Israel Chamber Orchestra, Tel-Aviv
Soloists, and the I.D.F. chamber orchestra. He made his debut with the
Bartók concerto in Leipzig under Daniel Harding. In demand as a chamber
musician, Guy has participated in the world’s leading chamber music
festivals, among them Lockenhaus, Davos, Dubrovnik, Ravinia,
Moritzburg, Prussia-Cove, and ‘Chamber music connects the world’ in
