Remote Access to MATLAB

Accounts for students enrolled BEFORE 1:30pm on 2/2 have been created.
Students who enrolled later can expect access by the end of this week.
ALL students can use MATLAB in the computer labs in the Engineering Quad and in North Campus.

If remote access is non-functional at any time, just walk into a public computer lab in the Engineering Quad to use MATLAB. You should save your files frequently and always copy them from the remote server onto your own machine.

Installing supporting software and starting MATLAB

• Windows
• Mac
• Linux: Follow the Mac instructions starting from "Log on via SSH", i.e., you should be able to skip the X Windows System software installation because it is usually already on your linux system.

Please always log out of your remote session in addition to closing MATLAB.

Five servers numbered 01 to 05 are available. If the server you are using appears sluggish (due to heavy traffic), log out of that session and try a different server.

Transfering files between local and remote machines

• Use the remote servers for storing ONLY your CS1112/1142/1132 work.
