The Project

This project builds on research by Professor Brian Wansink from the department of Applied Economics & Management. For more information, see: the Food and Brand Lab main page and Youtube account. The underlying goal is to reduce over-eating by monitoring and controlling the food that people eat.

For this purpose, the client is building and plans to market DANI: Wireless Food Scales, i.e., a set of scales that can communicate information about the food that people eat.

The hardware is being constructed by a team of M.Eng. students. The software needs are as follows:

  • Firmware to control the hardware
  • An API to interface with wireless applications
  • A demonstration application program that shows the use of the product.
