Reference Implementation

Software Download

For the CORBA version (Release 2.0), download the following components:

1. Java STARTS client and server applications - Release 2.0
2. freeWAIS and source files below

If you want the pre-CORBA version (Release 1.1), then download the following components:

1. Java StartsServer application - Release 1.1
2. Perl CGI script for interfacing to the reference implementation
3. HTML input form for constructing STARTS requests (this is the client).
4. freeWAIS and source files below

You will need the following components for either version of the STARTS reference implementation:

1. freeWAIS executables compiled for Solaris 2.5.
2. freeWAIS source (not necessary for running the reference implementation).
3. Index files for cstr and linux sources.
4. cstr and linux document sources used in the reference implementation
