Welcome to Shadow World !!

  Shadow is an application that mixes the power of information retrieval algorithm with an instant messenger. With the high usage of instant messenger as means of communication, it seemed natural for instant messengers to search the web for the topics that users are chatting on.  Our implementation is a modification of LINGO algorithm with emphasis on the age of the message and the quick response time of the application.  We have created our own chat server and client to implement the algorithm.

  Our Goal
 
  Shadow is an application framework that allows smart retrieval of information based on everyday tasks such as instant messaging. The goal of Shadow is for developers to easily incorporate information retrieval into their application. As a showcase of what Shadow can do, we created Shadow messenger that interacts with Shadow to figure out the topic of the conversation and search Internet for any websites related to the topic.
