Specifications

CrySis is a program designed to serve as an automated quality control tool for digital protein crystallography diffraction patterns.

Long Term Goals: CrySis, which is an acronym for Crystal Analysis, will be a premier software package designed to encompass all key aspects of High-throughput crystallography. It will be integrated with a robotic control mechanism and capable of fully automatic crystal loading, testing, collecting and even, eventually, structure solving. CrySis will allow the crystallographer to insert a collection of crystals into the device and be assured that data collection is executed in a smooth, rapid and hands-free manner.

Near Term Goals: CrySis has been proven to work with many diffraction patterns, however before it can be released into the public the analysis algorithms must be perfected. The addition of more rigorous criteria will enable CrySis to make accurate predictions even with borderline crystals. In the upcoming months the new GUI will be completed and new analysis parameters will be explored so that CrySis can fulfil the project goals.
