The Goods

If you were hoping for a copy of our code, your outta luck. We don't give our code to anybody, except for monetary payment (just kidding) or a couple of bottles of snapple (or a can of whoopass).

So you'll just have to come to BOOM to see this beast in action. And it is a beast too; pure text interface, none of the "gooey" stuff. We designed it that way; the main focus of this project was not something user-friendly, just somewhat intelligent. Of course, the error checking could be a little better (apologies in advance for any foul language/computerspeak).

You can type in your moves using the text interface, and it outputs the moves it decides to do. The only way to keep track of it is to have the board set up alongside. Of course, the computer has an internal representation, but unless you have memorised all of the territories and connections (like Alaska, Territory #0, has a connection to Kamchatka, Territory #37) it is pretty cryptic.

As a result, we apologise for not being able to let people play against it online. The system is pretty difficult to use unless you have a copy of Risk, and if you do, you should definitely play against other humans; our agent is nowhere near human standards (in our humble opinion).

So how does it perform? We will just have to refer you to our report.
