I've designed several web pages for groups and organizations, besides my own personal pages. My design philosophy is that while tasteful use of graphics and color can be of immense value, fancier and flashier is not always better.
For Novarr Mackesey Property Management, my goal was to create an attractive set of pages which would show off the quality of their rental properties. Because many potential customers use modems to access the web, it is important that the bandwidth requirements of the main pages be low. High resolution pictures and floor plans are included as options for those who choose to view them. Thus the challenge in designing this page was to create an attractive presentation without excessive use of graphic elements.
For the Cornell Aikido Club, I had room to be more flexible, since most students accessing the source have fast ethernet connections. Thus this page has more graphic elements than some of my other efforts.
