Who We Are

We are the Megahurts! We are faculty and graduate students (men and women) from Computer Science, as well as from other departments such as Operations Research (OR), Applied Maths (CAM) and Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE). Sometimes our visitors, friends, siblings, housemates or even children also play with us.

Why should I play?

Because hockey is fun! Our departmental hockey games are an informal setting in which to get to know other graduate students and the faculty who play with us, while getting plenty of exercise and having a great time. It has often been said hockey is one of the most enjoyable things at Cornell for the CS graduate students who play.

So you want to play with us?

Read the Rules & Tips pages, and you'll find out what you have to do.

I've never played before. Can I still play?

Sure! Many of our players had never played before coming to Cornell, and very few of our players have ever played competitively. We strongly encourage beginners and try help you as much as we can.

I can't skate. Can I still play?

Sure! You'll need to learn to skate, but you can also do that while playing. You might also find it useful to go to public skating at Lynah to practice sometimes.

I have another question.

Email hockey@cs.cornell.edu with your questions.

Thanks!

We express our gratitude to the Cornell CS department for continually supporting CS hockey by subsidizing our ice times and helping to pay for the gear we loan!
