CS312 Spring 2004 Announcement Archive
- The Lambda-Shark server is now running Roboshark for the next few days.
- The final exam is on Friday at 9:00am in Phillips 101.
- The Lambda-Shark tournament will be held Monday at 7:30 in Upson B17.
Everyone is welcome to attend even if you haven't submitted a bot.
The winning team will receive a prize.
The server is still up (and a few bugs in it have been fixed). The map used for the tournament will be similar (but not identical) to the one on the server.
- Per newsgroup discussion, an updated
parser/rcl.lex file is available.
This fixes a bug displaying bot names in the gui.
- The server is up. Test your bot on the
Lambda-Shark Server.
- (May 4) Slightly more updated source file in cms. This includes a fix for the disaply bug mentioned on the newsgroup.

- Updated
source files for the PS6 spec change are now in CMS.
- The spec change for Problem Set 6 has been released.
- Prelim 2 has been graded and Bill Hogan has the graded exams.
Median was 65, stdev 14, Histogram.
The solution
is available.
- PS6 is now available.
- Check the schedule for the design reviews to figure out who and where you will be meeting on the 26th or 27th.
- Sign up for PS6 design reviews at Upson 4119C before all the good slots
are taken! Design reviews will be held Monday and Tuesday. For most
groups they will be held in the systems lab (Upson 331). Don't forget
to send your reviewers any written materials the day before.
- Prelim II will be held April 20 in class. You may want
to try a practice exam
(solution).
This year you will be provided a copy of the
environment model handout
at the exam.
- Several corrections have been made to PS5.
Please note that there is an updated static.sml. The new file
is available on CMS.
- PS5 is available on CMS. Remember to think before you code!
Due: April 15.
- An extension on PS4 has been granted, until Friday at 5
pm.
- Problem 2(d) has been regraded for all exams that we still have.
If you would like to have this regraded, please bring it back to
Bill by the end of the week for expedited treatment.
- A bug fix for PS4 has been added to CMS. This affects the bignumToBytes
and bytesToBignum functions. Additionally, the spec for encryptBlock has
been clarified.
- Prelim 1 has been graded and entered into CMS. Bill Hogan has
the graded prelims (Upson 4119). Here is
a histogram of the grades.
- Assignment 4 has been updated - March 05
- Assignment 4 is out. Remember to start early! Due: March 18th

- Prelim 1 is at 7:30pm, Thursday, March 11, in Upson B17. Here is an example
exam from Spring 2003, and a solution.
- Because of the Thursday non-lecture, there is
an extension on Problem Set 1 until Thursday
February 5.
- If you cannot access the first assignment it is probably because
you weren't preregistered for the course. Send the course staff
email and this can be fixed.
- Recitations will be held at 10:10, 2:30, and 3:35 on Mondays and Wednesdays. For now
we will have a recitation at 7pm for those who can't make any
of the others. Send us mail
if you can't make it to any of these sections. The 10:10 section
will be in Upson 111, and the 7pm section will be in Upson 215.
