Awards given to Cornell CS faculty members
and researchers Cornell Computer Science faculty have been granted a wide
array of awards and honors over the years. The department
is ranked among the top computer science departments internationally

1 NY State CASE Professor of the Year In addition to the list above, Computer Science at Cornell
is home to the recipient of the highest award given by the
Latvian Academy of Scientists to scientists of Latvia and
of foreign countries for their outstanding creative contribution.
Many of the faculty have been recipients of awards from
the College of Engineering, in recognition of their outstanding
teaching. And the College of Arts and Sciences has presented
awards to CS faculty. These awards are given to one or two
faculty (out of approximately 600) per year. Awards from
industry have included the IBM Faculty Partnership Award,
which is presented each year to full-time professors at
accredited universities to recognize and foster innovative
work in academic education and research.
