My first name is pronounced [wutsja] if you remember your IPA. If you don't, just follow the lead of my officemates and think of my name as "w00tsia" :-).
The origin of the name is Polish (see question 2 below). It's the Polish version of Lucy, Lucie (French), Lucia (Italian, Spanish, etc.). In Polish, it's actually spelled with a stroke across the "L", like so: Łucja. I do not use this spelling, though, as many people are not familiar with the Ł symbol and interpret it as a "t", with disastrous results.
I am originally from Poland, but I have lived in many other countries. Here is a Web 2.0 answer to your question: click on a marker to find out about a place I lived, when I lived there, and what I did there!
Yup - he's my younger brother. His webpage is here, and he's a Ph.D. student in Information Science.
